Insecticides
Insecticides can be classified into two major groups: systemic insecticides, which have residual or long term activity; and contact insecticides, which have no residual activity.
Organochlorine - examples
The difference between insecticide and biocide is that insecticide is a substance used only to kill insects while the biocide is any substance that can kill living organisms.
Pesticides can contaminate soil, water, turf, and other vegetation. In addition to killing insects or weeds, pesticides can be toxic to a host of other organisms including birds, fish, beneficial insects, and non-target plants.
