♟️Eco-Chess♟️

To make this Eco-Chess set, we agreed to buy moulds online, while we were waiting for them to arrive, we experimented with multiple recipes to make the best one. Unfortunately, we needed more time to make it rock-solid.

Another thing that we noticed during the research. The drying process was taking too long.

So, we tried melting the plastic once it was dry, this did not work as the plastic would just start smoking, that's why it is used more as proof of concept for bioplastic manufacturing.

Since the plastic wasn't rock-solid and the details on the chess pieces weren't very clean so, we came up with the idea of putting identifying flags so that everyone would be able to understand what each piece was supposed to be.

It took us countless hours to make this, we even needed to come to school in the mornings to try to get this done until presentation day.

To get a better result, Simone brought the chess home and with the help of her mother, they stuck the board into a piece of wood and painted it to be more pretty. After that, we had troubles with the pink pieces because they weren't even coming out of the moulds intact. So, to solve our problem, she made it again, this time in her kitchen and most of them came out flawless. But the king and the queen couldn't be up so, we had to strengthen them with a small piece of silver wire.

So we can say that we were happy about the results, of course, they could be better but with the time and conditions we had, it is pretty good.

To present our project we had to make a scientific poster and an oral presentation:
